Telegram’s NFT Activity Soar by 400% in Q3

The spike in Telegram NFT activity is a reflection of the resurging interest in digital collectibles. Upcoming Sotheby’s auction would feature the AI artist Botto.

Helika’s Web3 Gaming Report noted that NFT activities on Telegram soared by 400% this past quarter. The number of unique wallets initiating NFT transactions on the platform increased from less than 200,000 in July to more than one million in September — a clear indication that Non-Fungible Token user engagement for this popular messaging app spiked.

NFT Growth on Telegram

With every new user embracing Web3, NFTs were bound to pick up speed on Telegram. The report prepared by Helika underlined this growing trend; many not only created wallets but actively bought, sold, and used in-game NFTs on the platform.

In September, Helika reported over three million active wallets across nine different games on Telegram alone. That number showed how fast NFTs are being integrated into modern gaming experiences, while Telegram is the center of this Web3 adoption.

Increasing Engagement by Gamers on Telegram

Helika also noted that the average length of one session grew from 2.8 minutes this August to 6.7 minutes at the beginning of October. This growth can be explained by the immersive experiences this platform provides to gamers.

This growth in engagement suggests that the rise of NFTs is not a fad but a change in user perspective about games. This trend also reflects a growing realization of the value of NFTs as actual in-game assets.

Hamster Kombat’s NFT Integration Plans

One of the leading games on Telegram is Hamster Kombat, which has more than 300 million users, and the number keeps soaring. Recently, the project’s team announced the inclusion of NFTs in its gaming ecosystem.

Developers of the game shared their roadmap, indicating that new games would be included in the ecosystem along with NFTs as assets. However, this move aligns with the bigger trend within the gaming industry, where developers create innovative ways to incorporate blockchain technology and NFTs into their games.

Developers build a feeling of ownership and investment among gamers by letting players own unique in-game assets to improve player engagement and retention. The second season of Hamster Kombat will kick off this November.

The released trailer showed that gamers would play the role of chief executives in companies. This brilliant approach creates interactive storytelling elements within games, showing the rise in functionality for NFTs.

NFTs and the Gaming Ecosystem

The explosion in NFT activity on Telegram shows how the platform is positioned to change the gaming landscape. As more people become aware of the concept of digital ownership, NFTs will become more appealing.

Players are starting to realize that they can buy, sell, or trade their unique in-game digital assets to earn greater incentives. As the number of NFT integrations in games increases, so will the way players engage with their favorite games change.

As more developers build increasingly immersive gaming experiences, players will start interacting with not just the games but also the blockchain powering these experiences.

Sotheby’s to Auction AI Art by Botto

Meanwhile, Sotheby’s has announced the sale of six works by Botto, the autonomous artist by Mario Klingemann in collaboration with ElevenYellow. The exhibition commemorates three years of Botto and innovative crossroads for art and technology.

The Sotheby’s sale is named “Exorbitant Stage: Botto, a Decentralized AI Artist” and began on October 17, while it will end by October 24. Notably, Botto creates a unique approach for its works — it creates thousands of prompts and completes an image all on its own, interference-free.

Subsequently, the images are exposed to a decentralized community of participants who vote for which pieces should be minted and sold. This unique approach further illustrates the continued revolution in the digital art world, where artists, collectors, and the overall community will work together in innovative ways.

The sale of Botto’s digital collectibles underlines not only the rising acceptance of AI-generated works but also how NFTs can be an alternative medium for showcasing artistic works. As artists explore blockchains to express themselves, the dividing line between conventional and digital art is slowly dissolving.
