Delhi Driver Corona Help Yojana Rs. 5000, Financial aid to Public service drivers
The Chief Minister of Delhi Mr Arvind Kejriwal announced on Thursday that the Delhi Government would provide financial aide of Rupees 5,000 to public transport drivers that include autos, taxis and e-rickshaws in the city because of the lockdown. The public service drivers are the ones who have been hit the hardest by this virus as it has caused a break in their daily wages leading them to be poverty-stricken.
Currently, the government is planning and strategizing on how to pay the sum amount into their bank accounts as the drivers of these vehicles and services are unavailable. Furthermore, he has also given assurance of financial assistance and daily supply of food and groceries to be provided to the public service drivers for the next 7-10 days. He has promised that no one will be left in poverty and will be given all the care and facilities by the Delhi Government.
The Delhi Government has already sponsored and given financial assistance of Rupees 5,000 to almost 35000 construction workers in the city. This pandemic has caused a massacre, demolition and worst economic crisis in the history of this country in which the lower class economy especially the daily wage workers and the poor people have been affected the most amongst others. Since the lockdown has now been extended till the 3rd of May it has also given the government as well as medical care workers the time and the chance to give proper care to the patients and to have a close track record of the areas where there are maximum chances of COVID-19 cases.
